Throughout her forties, a woman is most attracted to men at right around the age of 40. All men, from those in their twenties to those who are fifty, want to date a woman in her early twenties. For almost every year in his thirties, a man is most attracted to a 20-year-old woman.
Perhaps the difference is that now these things have been thought about, the repercussions have been felt and the language has been developed to unpick these relationships.
Most importantly, the law is now frequently (but not always) being enforced.
It won’t stop once she is “of age” either, though I can only pray that this will be the extent of her dealings with creeps who are old enough to know better.
